Here’s a small test for any safety platform.
Tap it on the shoulder and ask a question. A real one, in plain words.
“Which part of the yard has given us the most near-misses this quarter?”
“Are we closing investigations faster than last year, or slower?”
“What is my biggest unaddressed risk on the night shift right now?”
Most systems won’t be able to respond. Not because the required information is missing- it is usually right there- but because they were built to store data, not provide answers.
You feed into it, you extract from it. You export, you filter, you build a report, and somewhere at the end of all that you find the answer yourself.
And we all… accept this? I find that we have quietly accepted this as normal.
It’s 2026- do we still assume that a system is intelligent just because it is ‘digital’?
A digital filing cabinet is still a filing cabinet!
The question to ask is a simple one. “Can my safety system answer my query, or can I only search it?”
There is a real difference here:
• A search gives you rows. An answer gives you meaning.
• A search needs you to know (or guess) what to look for. An answer meets you where your worry is.
• A search means an analyst and a coffee-fuelled afternoon. An answer means a conversation.
A shift supervisor, a terminal manager, a safety lead- they do not have time to build a query, add layers of context, connect all the dots.
They have a question, and they need it answered *while it is still useful*.
This is one of the things we set out to change with Qavach. Ask it, in plain language, and it answers- from your own data, your incidents, your patterns, your risks. Insights stop being
something you dig around for, and becomes something you can simply request.
A safety system that only stores is a record of the past. One you can actually ask is closer to a partner in the present.
Start thinking- do you want data, or answers?
